About This Site...
Hi, I'm Jerry Nowak and, although I prefer using the term "Explainer," I am a Technical Writer and Training Developer. I design and develop technical documentation, training courses, and eLearning (Web-based training) courseware for business processes/procedures, computer software applications and related subjects.
My specialty is explaining how things work, primarily in the following areas:
- Application user guides, reference manuals, and job aids
- Courseware development (hardcopy and virtual environment)
- Business operation practices, processes, and procedures
- Standards compliance documentation (SDLC, ITIL, NIST, etc.)
- Presentation and process-flow graphics
I have been explaining business processes, computer applications and systems, and how to use them, for a few decades now. Although my background is in information systems development, I've also spent a good number of years on the user side of the screen. I've managed customer service and accounting organizations, as well as human resource and administrative services groups, so I'm well aware of what those computer users need from a job aid or an ops manual.
